The short version
Use Tildew lawfully, only with content you are entitled to use, and do not try to misuse or resell the service. Subscriptions renew until cancelled. You may cancel at any time, and once per customer we refund the unused share of a charge when you ask within seven days (in full if you have used less than 10% of your credits). This promise does not apply to charges billed in Indian rupees, which are non-refundable except where the law requires. Tildew uses AI, so transcripts and notes can be incomplete or wrong; check anything important against the original video. Your mandatory consumer rights always remain yours.
1. Your agreement with us
These Terms of Service (the Terms) form a contract between you and MZEUS LABS LLP (LLPIN ACV-7859), a limited liability partnership registered in Pune, Maharashtra, India (Tildew, we, us or our). They apply to the Tildew Chrome extension, tildew.com and the related services we provide together (the Service).
By creating an account, buying a subscription or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Tildew. If you use Tildew for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it; references to “you” then include that organisation.
2. What Tildew does
Tildew turns a supported public YouTube video that you choose into a transcript and structured, timestamped notes. It is an independent product and is not sponsored, endorsed or operated by YouTube or Google.
The Service is intended for public videos with spoken content. Private or restricted videos, live streams, videos longer than the limit shown in the Service, music intended primarily as a song, and videos whose content cannot be accessed or understood may not be supported. Features, supported languages and usage allowances may change as the product improves.
3. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this contract.
- You must provide accurate information and use an account that belongs to you.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to it secure. Tell us promptly at hello@tildew.com if you believe it has been used without permission.
- An account and subscription are for one person unless we expressly offer a multi-user plan. You may not sell, lend or share access in a way that avoids plan limits.
4. Acceptable use
You may use Tildew for lawful personal, educational and internal business purposes. You may copy or export your results for those purposes, subject to the rights of the original video owner and anyone else whose material appears in the video.
You must not:
- use the Service to infringe copyright, privacy, publicity or any other right;
- use it to create or distribute song lyrics or other content where doing so would be unlawful;
- circumvent access controls, usage limits or restrictions on a video or the Service;
- automate bulk requests, scrape the Service, resell access or use results to build a competing transcript or summarisation service;
- probe, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer or introduce malicious code into the Service, except to the limited extent a restriction is prohibited by law;
- misrepresent AI-generated notes as a verified or verbatim record; or
- use Tildew for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive or harmful activity.
Reasonable, good-faith security research is welcome. Please report a suspected vulnerability privately to hello@tildew.com and give us a reasonable opportunity to investigate before disclosing it.
5. Subscriptions, charges and cancellation
Paid plans, prices, billing periods and included allowances are shown before you purchase. The checkout page controls if it differs from general marketing copy. Taxes, currency conversion and payment-provider charges, if any, will be shown or applied as required.
Subscriptions renew automatically for the same billing period until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorise the payment provider shown at checkout to charge the payment method you provide at each renewal. You can cancel at any time through the subscription-management link provided with your purchase or by contacting hello@tildew.com. Cancellation stops future renewals; unless a refund applies, access continues until the end of the paid period.
We may change a subscription price for a future billing period. If we do, we will give you advance notice where required and the change will take effect no earlier than your next renewal after that notice. You can cancel before the new price takes effect.
Plans include an allowance of credits for each monthly period. A video uses credits according to how long it is and which notes you ask for; the Service shows how many credits you have left, and a video that fails returns the credits it reserved. Unused credits do not roll over to the next period. On a yearly plan the allowance is granted for each monthly period of the year, not as a single yearly pool.
The allowance that applies to you is the one shown in the Service or at purchase. We may change allowances, what a video costs in credits, or usage limits such as maximum video length, for future periods only, and only because the cost or availability of the AI services Tildew depends on has changed, because a law or app-store rule requires it, or to add or improve a feature.
If a change would reduce your allowance, increase what a video costs you, or tighten a usage limit, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. The period you are already in is never affected. You may cancel at any point before it takes effect, or within 30 days after we tell you, and we will refund the unused part of what you have paid for, calculated to the day. Changes that only add to what you get take effect without notice.
Starter credits. A new account may claim a one-time allowance of free starter credits. Starter credits have no cash value and cannot be sold, transferred, refunded or exchanged for money. They are limited to one allowance per person; creating additional accounts to obtain more is not allowed, and we may remove starter credits obtained that way. We never charge you when starter credits run out; you choose whether to subscribe. We may change the size of the allowance, pause its use, or end the offer at any time, including for starter credits you have not used. The refund promise in section 6 covers only amounts you paid.
6. Refunds and statutory cancellation rights
Our seven-day promise. If Tildew is not right for you, email hello@tildew.com within seven calendar days of the relevant subscription charge and ask for a refund. We refund the unused share of that charge: the credits you have not used, divided by the credit allowance for that period, applied to the charge. If you have used less than 10% of the allowance, we refund the charge in full. Credits count as used once a video has been processed or is being processed for you. The promise is available once per customer: after we have refunded a charge under it, later charges follow the ordinary rules in this section. Include the email address used for Tildew and enough purchase information for us to identify the charge, but never send full card or bank details. We may end access for the refunded period when the refund is issued.
India. The seven-day promise is not available for subscriptions or credit packs billed in Indian rupees. Those charges are non-refundable, except in the two cases described in the next paragraph and wherever applicable law requires a refund or another remedy.
After seven days, charges are ordinarily non-refundable and we do not provide partial refunds for unused time. There are two exceptions: if we change your allowance, what a video costs or a usage limit to your disadvantage, you may cancel and receive a refund of the unused part calculated to the day (see “Plans, allowances and changes” above); and we will always provide any refund, price reduction, re-performance or other remedy required by applicable law, including where the Service is faulty, misdescribed or unavailable for a material period.
This policy does not replace your statutory rights. Depending on where you live, the law may give you a longer cooling-off period or additional cancellation rights. Where you expressly ask for the digital service to begin immediately, local law may permit those rights to be reduced once supply begins. Nothing in these Terms limits a right that cannot lawfully be limited.
Approved refunds are returned through the original payment method. Your bank or payment provider controls how long the credit takes to appear.
7. Videos, results and AI
You choose the public video that Tildew processes. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the video and the results is lawful. Tildew does not give you ownership of, or a licence to republish, the original video or anyone else’s material.
Transcripts, timestamps and notes are generated automatically. They may omit context, mishear words, contain inaccurate timestamps or make factual mistakes. Results are an aid to understanding—not a substitute for watching the source or for professional advice. Do not rely on them for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical or other high-stakes decisions. Check important information against the original video and appropriate qualified sources.
You may tell us about a poor result so we can improve the Service. Please do not send confidential information in a support request.
8. Ownership and feedback
We and our licensors own Tildew, including its branding, software, design and documentation. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the Service while you comply with them. They do not transfer ownership of the Service to you.
As between you and us, and to the extent the law permits rights to exist in AI-generated results, we do not claim ownership of your exported results. Similar or identical results may be produced for other users, and we cannot promise that any result is unique or eligible for copyright protection.
If you voluntarily send feedback or ideas, you allow us to use them without restriction or payment, but we will not identify you publicly without permission.
9. Third-party services
Tildew works with third-party services, including YouTube, Chrome and the payment provider identified at checkout. Their own terms and policies may apply to your use of their services. We do not control third-party content, decisions or availability and are not responsible for them. Your use of YouTube must comply with the YouTube Terms of Service and applicable law.
10. Changes and availability
We work to keep Tildew available, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, faults, third-party changes, demand or events outside our reasonable control may interrupt the Service.
We may add, change or remove features where reasonably necessary to improve Tildew, protect users, comply with law or respond to changes in third-party services. If we discontinue the paid Service or remove a core paid feature during your current billing period, we will provide reasonable notice where practicable and an appropriate remedy, such as continued access, a pro-rata refund or another remedy required by law.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Tildew at any time and may cancel your subscription as described above. You may request account deletion under our Privacy Policy; deleting the extension alone does not cancel a subscription.
We may restrict or suspend access if we reasonably believe you have materially breached these Terms, created a security or legal risk, failed to pay, or used the Service fraudulently or abusively. Where reasonable, we will tell you and give you an opportunity to fix the issue. We may terminate immediately where the risk is urgent or the breach cannot be fixed.
Terms which by their nature should continue—including ownership, disclaimers, liability, governing law and amounts already due—survive termination.
12. Important disclaimers
Nothing in these Terms excludes promises or warranties that the law does not allow us to exclude. Subject to that, the Service is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not promise that every video will be supported, that every result will be complete or accurate, or that the Service will meet every particular purpose.
Tildew is a productivity tool. It does not provide professional advice and is not an official transcript, accessibility service, evidence record or substitute for the original video.
13. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, breach of mandatory consumer rights, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
If you are a consumer, we are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for a loss that was not foreseeable, for business losses arising from consumer use, or for loss caused by your breach, third-party content or events outside our reasonable control.
If you use Tildew for business purposes, to the fullest extent permitted by law we will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, revenue, business, goodwill or data. Our total liability arising from the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for Tildew in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim and (b) US$100.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Pune, Maharashtra will have jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer, you may also have the benefit of mandatory protections and the right to bring a claim in the courts or consumer forum available under the law where you live.
Before starting formal proceedings, please email hello@tildew.com with a short description of the problem and the resolution you want. We will try in good faith to resolve it promptly. This does not prevent either side from seeking urgent relief or using a statutory complaint process.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to Tildew, the law or our business. We will post the new version here and change the effective date. If a change materially reduces your rights or increases your obligations, we will give reasonable advance notice through the Service or by email where required. Changes do not apply retroactively. If you do not agree, you may cancel before the change takes effect.
16. General legal terms
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about the Service, except for any additional terms clearly presented at purchase. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest will remain in effect. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. You may not transfer this agreement without our consent; we may transfer it as part of a merger, reorganisation or sale of the Service, provided your rights are not reduced. No person other than you and us has a right to enforce these Terms.
